Yes, Where You Print Your Photos Matters!

Close your eyes … wait, don’t. Because you need to keep reading this 😉 But I’m going to pretend to hand you two things. You tell me which you prefer. A recipe of my mom’s famous Texas sheet cake and a piece of her yummy amazingness of Texas sheet cake with a fork. Which do you prefer? The flat, lifeless version that tells you all about the basic ingredients or that first bite of the moist, delicious cake? Printing photos is a lot like that. Where you print your photos matters. You have choices. Some choices cover the basics and others give you a mouthwatering experience you will enjoy every day of your life.

#1 Why print your images?

Printed images are important because this is where a true “love” for a photo begins. It is the final touch of happiness over your photos, because now they are real. You can touch them, gaze into his or her eyes in a variety of sizes, and enjoy them daily by displaying them in your home.

Walking down your hallway and seeing the photo from your wedding everyday reminds you of the love you betrothed to your spouse, or how your kiddos looked when they were five. You will never forget what your fianće told you in the photo where you have tears of joy running down your face. Your images need to be displayed, because they are real moments.

Printed images are a treasure for family and friends. You can make a bridesmaid’s day, or your very patient piano teacher, or make your parents or grandparents smile by putting a family photo on their mantle. Photos should not stop at being posted on Facebook. Print them and share the moment every single day!

#2 What is the difference of where you print your photos?

It seems like you can get photos printed anywhere anymore. You can pick up your toilet paper and your prints in the same location. BUT is that a good thing for preserving your memories the best way possible?

I have become really passionate about prints only recently. I used to encourage people to print wherever they wanted, because I honestly didn’t understand how big the effects were of printing high quality and printing low quality.

Although I still allow a print release so clients may print wherever, I encourage you to print through my recommended print lab. Clients love that I make printing accessible through their online gallery. Point and click. They simply select a photo and order it to be printed.

When things are printed poorly, you won’t feel the same about the image as you did before. Maybe your face is a little blurry, the expression on his face gets lost, your hair that you spent all morning getting every hair right now looks more like a wig or a hat, or some of your body is cut off because you decided to go through a lab that “just prints it”.

Don’t settle for that. I want you to LOVE every image you print, for years and years! Watching a low quality print fade on your wall is sad. Print high quality so it doesn’t ever fade. Your special day came and went, but even though the day is over you were brilliant and had me capture the moments on film. Insure your investment by purchasing high quality prints.

#3 Isn’t it super expensive?

I am so excited to denounce the biggest myth of all: “high quality prints will forever be remarkably more expensive than low quality prints.” Friends, this is really not true.

I was curious about this, so I did some research to find the truth. Many people think that printing high quality must be dollars upon dollars more expensive – but it is NOT.

Granted, when you pay for a higher quality item, usually you have a more expensive product. What I have found is that many print labs of high quality only range about 10-30 cents more per print than a low quality print lab. I promise you, the extra cents or even dollars are WORTH IT when it comes down to having to a photo you will really LOVE. Forever.

Ultimately, I want you to love your photographed experience- from the minute you book until you receive your prints.

Raise your fork and choose the Texas sheet cake. Invest a few more dollars now to enjoy the sweetness forever. Calorie free!

I am here to help you with any questions you have about the entire process, including printing your images so never hesitate to contact me. I love what I do. And I love helping you.
